Trying to do a fresh windows installation (tried both 10 and 11, both failed) on a laptop with a clean and reformatted hard drive. If I go into the bios, the hard drive is visible and running some tests suggests that it is working fine. However, when trying to install windows, it does not recognize the hard drive. I’m sure its a driver issue, however, it’s a western digital hard drive and my understanding is that the drivers should be included with windows.

Tried a windows rescue tool, and the hard drive is visible and seems to work fine there as well. I know I could open it up and take a look but I’d rather not do that if possible

Its a hp laptop if that makes a difference
