Greetings. My GF wants to enable RDP on her laptop (I’ll explain why below, but it’s not really important). I’ve read here that it opens a port that it’s visible on your network, and that you should only enable it on trusted networks. But I don’t see an option to do that? it’s only an on / off toggle. Does it enable by default only for private networks? are we expected to enable and disable it only when we need it? she’s never going to do that, and I have my doubts if she’ll mark the public networks she connects to as such, so, the ideal thing would be to have it enabled only when connected to the home network. Any way to do this? thanks!
The why: we have our PCs set in a room that has the space to fit them, but doesn’t get much natural light. We also have an old iMac set in a tighter space, which get lots of natural light. So we use the iMac to RDP into our PCs. She wants to be able to do that with her laptop, but it worries me, since the PCs never leave the house, but the laptop does.
