Hello,

So recently I’ve been getting the BSOD with REGISTRY_ERROR after verifying a Steam game and I want to wipe the drive so I can just have a clean slate to reinstall my things.

What I did was install Windows on a USB and I booted it so I could have something other than a blue screen and from there I want to try to reformat/wipe the drive that has that error. From here, I cannot do anything to the drive due to it being read only and trying to do anything through the command prompt leads to the error, Data error (cyclic redundancy check) or I am unable to access it. I tried chksk, attributes disk clear readonly, and adjusting the permissions to no avail.

I also heard that crc might just mean the drive is beyond saving. Since sales are coming up I can get a new one, but I want to try one last time before giving up. Any suggestions?
