I want to spend around $500-600 for a laptop for my parents. The laptop should have a 17.3" screen (1920x1080) with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD.
I have narrowed down my choices to the following:
- Acer Aspire 5 with Intel i5-1235U - $470
- HP 17Z-CP300 with AMD Ryzen 5 7530U - $500
- HP 17T-CN300 with Intel i5-1335U - $580
Here’s a few things to know about how my parents will use the laptop:
- they will only browse the web and watch videos
- the laptop will just sit on a table the whole time - they will never take the laptop with them anywhere
- the laptop will stay plugged in all the time - it will never run off the battery
- every other laptop and desktop PC my parents have ever had has been used for 9-12 years before they finally replaced it, so this laptop should be able to last 10 years
Which do you think would be better - the Acer or one of the HPs?
