I’m seeking guidance on how to find your founding team, beyond your existing network.

Context: I regularly come up with ideas that I’d consider passion projects, typically linked to sustainability and ‘the greater good’. My experience isn’t in this though, nor is my line of work.

The most recent at a top line is orientated around coral conservation and restoration. This type of work is becoming increasingly popular due to carbon offsetting initiatives for businesses, nations and consumers.

As there are 27 million certified PADI divers, there’s a community ready to tap into, where I believe talent and motivation would be easy to find.

Question: As I have limited knowledge in this area (coral, conservation, charity) I’d need to work with a founding team. How have you in the past found people to start a passion project with, outside of your existing network?
