So, I have a computer that I built a while ago. I was young and not very smart, but also did not have money for a license, so, as expected, I used CMD to activate windows.
I know this was bad, and now I can get actual legal keys thanks to a job , but I have questions about fixing this mistake.
I know I am probably at risk, and I ask.
- Can I get rid of this definitely without needing to change my OS drive? (Like wiping the drive)
- If I can, then, how do I do it?
- Do I need to do something with my microsoft account to ensure I’m ok?
- Will this allow me to use the same account for an actual windows license?
- If it will, where can I get a license that will be linked to my account and not the hardware?
I don’t mind deleting everything from the C drive, and neither do I mind if I have to use unactivated windows for a day or two.
(Just as a little side note, I never noticed any issues with my system, and only now that I want to use original W10 license have I wondered about this.)
I just need to know how to safely cut off all potential risks to my PC
If something has already been done, I just want to prevent anything else from happening
All help is appreciated, truthfully Thanks
