I took my 2008 Volvo xc70 to get work done and they disconnected the battery while doing so. I got it back and now neither of my key fobs work, I can use the emergency key to unlock my car but it sets off all alarms. I’ve called locksmiths, they won’t reprogram with my car. I called the Volvo dealership and apparently my car keys cannot be reprogrammed I just have to buy a new one and pay for the labor/key ($400). The dealership told me to put new batteries in them both to be sure they’re not dead. I did that and they both still don’t work. I’m honestly frustrated that this happened considering they both worked beforehand, is the mechanic at fault and should pay for the key fob work? I’m at a loss right now and this is a new car to me that has already kind of been a pain with the work it’s needed. Any advice on how to move forward with this? Anything helps. Thanks
