Should all 4 tires spin freely when on a lift and in park

I have a 2011 Mazda CX-9. The car is AWD. Should all 4 wheels spin freely when on a lift and the car is in park and the parking brake is off? All 4 of the tires do spin freely. I believe I have a bad transfer case and was trying to diagnose if the transmission or transmission splines are shot before yanking the transfer case. Thank you for your help!

thi is why your supposed to turn the wheels the correct way so it rolls into the curb and hopefully catches.
