Key stuck in ACC/ON position 2014 Chevy Malibu

Hey everybody my key is stuck in the ACC/ON position on my 2014 Malibu. It will not release or turn off. The car will still start but to turn off I’ve had to disconnect the battery and unplug the ignition fuse. Any idea on how to fix this one? I purchased a new ignition switch with cylinder and new key but wanted to know if maybe there was something else to look out for before I replaced it.
