Hey folks, looking for some advice…
I bought a Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph 46 from a Breitling boutique here in the UK just over a week ago. Since then it’s been perfect, keeping great time with no issues.
That is, until last night, when I noticed that the chronograph sweep hand / second hand seems to have become misaligned. When reset, the hand is sitting almost exactly between 59 seconds and 0 seconds. It returns to this exact position every time.
I’ve not knocked or dropped it, or subjected it to any extreme forces. So I’m entirely unsure what’s caused this. And so far my efforts to “reset” the hand back to 0 have failed:
- Lots of starting / stopping / resetting of the chronograph.
- Running the chronograph for extending period of time (i.e. overnight).
- Resetting from the 3 o’clock position (read this sometimes works on another forum?).
The watch still keeps excellent time and the chronograph runs smoothly when started, and there’s no issues with the chronograph minutes or hours hands.
I’d really like to avoid sending it away to Breitling for a repair, they advertise service turnaround times of 4 weeks in the FAQ on their website here in the UK, but I don’t know how accurate that is and frankly. I really resent sending it off for a month or more when I’ve not even owned it for 2 weeks yet.
Wondering if anyone has encountered this before and what the resolution was (and what might have caused it)? Is there a chance this could return to 0 over time? Is there any other tricks I might be able to try to reset it back to 0? Does anyone have any recent experience with a warranty repair with Breitling UK in terms of timelines?
Cheers!
