So long story short, I bought a macbook from a friend, it was stolen and after a few months of sherlock Holmes and Watson I was able to retrieve it recently. Bad news is that it was on activation lock when i got it back and that I had that apple ID so long I dont think i ever changed the password so I dont remember it. Phone number was old as well. There was an option to use the device password that was used to sign in to the macbook, that i remember cause i use it on my pc and other laptop but It gave me an error and said I can no longer use the device password because it was entered wrong too many times. I guess they were trying to get in and failed. Anyway I contact apple support and they directed me to fill out the removal request which requires proof of ownership. I ask my friend and he sends me the email he got after he ordered it from Costco. The only thing is with costco, it only shows the order number and an item number on the receipt. Friend also said its been so long(2020) that the order wasnt even on his Costco account anymore. So I just attached what he sent to me and sent it to Apple a couple days ago. On the form it asked for store address, name number etc but it was an online order to i just typed “online”. Will that be sufficient?
