Star player load management comes up a lot here. I want to toss out a fringe opinion.
Star players resting is awesome for bench development. The value of 2nd tier draft capital is increasing. Low level prospects are seeing more minutes than ever.
In theory the NBA starter pool should continue to widen. Truer competition amongst teammates. Less super teams. More parity. Harder job for coaches. But more rewarding for good coaches. Less leverage for star players (but as a con I think player leverage is important to free market).
I would be bummed if I bought tickets to see a star player and he sat. But I am more of a team guy, and I think this is way bigger than people realize.
