I’ve been connected to my home internet by LAN for months now, only last week it suddenly stopped working. I kinda figured it was a cable issue considering how beaten up it had gotten. I ordered a Cat 6 cable as an ‘upgrade’ to the old cat 5, so I could achieve gigabit internet. So I thought.

I tested it out on my laptop, great succes, it connected. But when I extended it to my room and connected it to my pc, nothing. It buffered and buffered for minutes on end until the troubleshoot said “can’t connect to the DHCP”.

I’ve visited old threads and websites and done nearly everything in my power to fix this, but I just can’t come to a solution. Maybe you guys have some experience with this?
