Intel announced they were rebranding their consumer pc chips this year. then why there is 14th gen i9 i7 and not core 9 core 7 ?

Intel announced in june that they were dropping the " i " moniker and rebranding their pc chips. the chips were supposed to be named as core 5 , core 7 , core ultra etc. Still they released 14th gen core i7 core i5. Am I missing something here?
