Everytime I create a vault on Cryptomator, I always make sure that I have an unencrypted copy in my desktop. Yesterday, I was trying to figure out whether to use 7zip or Cryptomator before backing it up on Google Drive. So I have my vault, 7zip and unencrypted version of the same folder (does that make sense?) which gives me three copies of the same thing (my head aches from writing that). This morning I realized the mess I made. Turns out that the 7zip folder was from the vault that I just deleted. I tried to add an existing vault but the vault.cryptomator and masterkey.cryptomator weren’t in the folder. Now what I have is the extracted folder (I extracted the 7zip because I forgot to make an unencrypted copy) with files in “Cryptomator Encrypted Data”. Is there any way I could open these files?
These files mostly include old files I don’t mind losing and recovery codes (mostly from gmail) that I could download again. What’s irreplaceable there are the old photos there of my childhood and high school days
