Currently finishing my basement and browsing recessed lights. My wife and I have decided we really like these Halo lights with night light: Home Depot link, Spec sheet.
There will be a total of 10. Not all will be on the same switch. Switch 1 and 2 will control two lights each. Switch 3 and 4 will control 3 lights each.
They will be put on a dimmer switch so I’m browsing now. Halo has a specific dimming guide with a list of dimmers they recommend. Further down in the PDF there’s wiring and step-up transformer stuff.
Unfortunately many recommended dimmers in stock anywhere or we just don’t like them aesthetically and we also want an old school slider to dim, nothing electric(you know what I mean). As much as I’d love my home to be entirely smart, it’s not in the budget.
I don’t know too much about this and wiring(yes im having an electrician do it but I like to research things myself). Looking for advice on any dimmers you know of that work or how to wire with aforementioned transformers.
We would really like to get these to work and I’m sure there will be recommendations for other lights so if you do have any, please keep them to this style. Meaning 4" canless recessed light with a night light ring. RGB MIGHT be acceptable if the price is right but I really, really would prefer just the flick of a switch and a slide dimmer. Thank you!
