Hell, you get PWM strobing at 40hz, but it’s usually not noticeable if you’re 100% focused on the screen. If you glance at the Deck at 40hz out of the corner of your eye, it’s really distracting, IMO.
If I can get 40, I usually like to turn down settings and try to get 45. If I can’t get 40 reliably anyway, I just accept 30 with 60hz to avoid the distracting flicker.
I have a feeling I am more sensitive to it than most people though. For example, when I saw Oppenheimer on 70mm film, the strobing was very distracting to me, but the people I went with didn’t notice it at all.
