Ok, I’ve had Windows 11 installed on this system for quite a while (upgraded from Windows 10), all of the sudden one day I go to turn it on and I get:
File::\WINDOWS\system32\winload.efi
Error code: 0xc00000e9
Do some Googling, try a bunch of stuff and nothing works, end up trying to do a clean install of Windows 11, but it tells me my computer doesn’t support Windows 11. Decide to try to install Windows 10 and upgrade it again to 11. End up not selecting the UEFI option for my bootable USB and install Windows 10 in Legacy mode (I’ve never had to do a clean install of 10 or 11 so I didn’t realize how crucial this was) so I can’t do Secure Boot and so can’t upgrade to 11. Now I’m trying to go back and install with the UEFI option in the boot menu and my system just goes to a blank blue screen and shuts down after about 30 seconds.
Anyone else had this problem while trying to install UEFI from a USB? I don’t know what changed with my BIOS in the first place because Windows 11 was running fine. I’ve tried booting it with CSM Enabled and UEFI only, I’ve tried with CSM disabled and Secure Boot enable then Secure Boot disabled and nothing works. I even tried the MBR2GPT command in the Windows PE environment on my system disk and it fails validation. Also, tried updating my BIOS and the Gigabyte application says it failed to update. At this point not sure if something is wrong with my Mobo or some other piece of hardware in my system. I’m at my wits end here and hoping someone has seen something similar. I’ll answer any requests for details in the comments and thank you in advance!
