Trying to figure out diagnostics for my 2009 toyota rav4
Sporadically, I’ll get heavy vibration at higher speeds from my front passenger wheel and pulsation when braking at high speeds. The wheel doesn’t feel super loose, no other major noises. It was only every now and then, would go away if I hit a bump. Now it’s gotten progressively worse
Before you say “your rotors are warped”
I did the the last brake job myself, new rotors, and new calipers. I followed specs to a tee. One thing I noticed is that the caliper bracket fit way more tightly when I installed it on the passenger front than the driver front. It felt as if the rotor and the wheel bearing weren’t flush, but I resurfaced the bearing with a wire brush and cleaned the rotors with brake cleaner before I installed it.
There’s no give or wobble in the bearing, could a failing wheel hub or ball joint be causing sporadic misalignment that’s giving me pulsation? It wouldn’t make sense that my rotor is warped if the vibration/pulsation is inconsistent and even so, I installed the rotors and calipers less than a year ago and have swapped the pads out since then so there shouldn’t be excessive wear or excessive heat from the braking hardware alone.
