Sony ES gear is my all time fav type of audio equipment. I own both a FA50ES and a FA3ES, both work like a dream and show no signs of problems which is amazing considering they are over 25 years old! Anyone else love this particular type of gear?

You would need to ajust the laser power on that CD drive. Also, if the noise seems like a thing rubbing on another, you may want to open it and realign the CD clamp.
