I am want to setup a mastodon instance on DigitalOcean for a Uni student society. How do I integrate the elk ui like Mozilla.social?

Should I have elk on my domain root and mastodon on the sub domain? How would that impact SEO? I don’t want the sub domain to show up on google search results.

I checked mozilla’s github repos, but I can’t find any information on how they deployed elk ui with mastodon.
