Probably something you’ve heard 101 times before but here we go…

My girlfriends parents have a 6 bedroom house and naturally the room we have converted to a living room for us gets 4mbps internet if we are lucky.

They have a Wi-Fi extender but from my limited knowledge these simply push out a signal they receive so if they get a poor signal they send out a poor signal.

Is there any way we can improve the strength of the internet in our side of the house? I’ve just tried to play a few games on the Xbox and the packet loss and lag reminds me of gaming 15 years ago.

Any help, products, suggestions are appreciated.
