Top Grades:

  1. David Montgomery (90.8)
  2. Penei Sewell (89.4)
  3. Kalif Raymond (84.1)
  4. Josh Paschal (78.3)
  5. Jack Campbell (74.4)

Bottom Grades:

  1. Kayode Awosika (30.8)
  2. Quinton Bohanna (36.8)
  3. Jerry Jacobs (40.1)
  4. Graham Glasgow (41.8)
  5. Alex Anzalone (47.6)

Positive Takeaways:

  • Great to see Jack Campbell finally put together an all around good game. This was his highest graded game by a pretty big margin. So hopefully this game is something that he can build off of
  • Jameson Williams only got a 67 this week. But that is a 3rd week in a row of at least above average play. Weeks 5-8, he had a grade of 54.5 which ranked 70th out of 76 WR’s. Since the bye he has had a grade of 69.9, which ranks 31st out of 83 WR’s. He has really turned it around the last 3 weeks
  • I was surprised to see this grade, but Penei Sewell had another dominant performance. I’d have to go back and watch cause this grade caught me off guard, but he was really good yet again
  • David Montgomery has been on a tear recently. His snaps were a little limited this week. But still, He has been graded over 86 for 3 straight weeks since coming off of injury. That is First among all Running Backs in that span
  • We actually had halfway decent performances from Edge Rushers not named Aidan Hutchinson this week. Didn’t translate to the stat sheet unfortunately because we just seem incapable of getting sacks. But Paschal with a 78.3 and Cominsky with a 68.5 are both good performances compared to how they have played this season.
  • Kerby Joseph had a decent little rebound this week. Scoring a 66.5 after having bad performances 4 of the previous 5 games. Still not where we need him to be though. The talent is better than he has been playing. But him and Branch (67.9) were the only defensive backs who played well at all this game.
  • It was nice to see Kalif Raymond getting involved in the offense again. Put up a really good 84.1 this week after failing to score over 62 the last 4 games. It would be nice to get him and Reynolds back on track.

Negative Takeaways

  • The Guard position was a complete disaster. Awosika, Glasgow and Sorsdal all had grades below 49 this week which is impossibly bad. Glasgow has fallen back to earth a bit (Which was kind of expected considering how awesome he was to begin the season). Sorsdal hasn’t really shown much in any of his time on the field yet. He’s a rookie so I’ll cut him some slack
  • Speaking of disaster. Jared Goff, by his standards, had yet another bad game. This is now a grade under 59 in 3 of his last 5 games. At one point, he was the #1 graded QB in all of football. Now he has slid back to 11th place. This team can’t compete for anything this year if Goff is this version of himself so hopefully this is just a rough patch.
  • Anzalone threw in one of his stinkers that he seems to mix in once in a while. His run defense was especially bad this game (38.8). And he still needs to work on his tackling. Great player, but consistency issues
  • Lions outside Cornerbacks were terrible. Jerry Jacobs had his worst graded game of the season and Cam Sutton continues to struggle (55.4). Since week 7, Sutton and Jacobs are actually the 84th and 85th ranked CB’s out of 98. Good QB’s are going to pick them to pieces. Sutton is the biggest disappointment considering he was one of the exciting pickups of the offseason
  • Jack Fox and Riley Patterson both had bad games again. Both with sub 60 grades. Fox is the 17th highest graded punter and Patterson is the 22nd highest graded FG kicker. I don’t know how they grade these things but both aren’t having a good season.
  • Tracy Walker has been mostly consistent this season. But this was the first time he had a really bad grade for a game (49.4). On a day where Sutton and Jacobs played horrible, it is no wonder Jordan Love had his best game as a pro.

A lot of his give ups were outside the pocket, which isn’t the pass protectors fault
