I want to apply for a nomad visa in Spain next year. I have 1099 income and make pretty decent income. Currently I live in one of the most expensive cities in the us and just getting over the us. I travel to Europe at least twice a year and spent 6 weeks in France this summer so I love Europe. I know not all europe is the same but just giving some context. I am mexican American and speak fluent Spanish. My only concerns are taxes might be high, racism towards Latinos in Spain, and finding a nice rental. I am not really losing anything moving there I can always come back but moving international is just a bit scary.

I am freelance employee so I’m not sure how my income would change if I work for myself and all the work I do for my clients is remotely. This is one of the main reasons I’m trying to move abroad because I don’t have to worry about finding a new job. I am not sure why everyone is so worried about me finding a job or the living cost when I’ve stated on my question that I have freelance and that I already live in expensive city so cost and income isn’t an issue. I am not moving to cut cost or find a better job I’m simply moving because life is short and I want to live in a big European city and Spain has a digital nomad visa and meets other criteria I am looking.
