The brake pads on my 2007 Accord V6 need replaced. It seems the general advice is to resurface or replace rotors when changing pads. But I didn’t noticed any kind of vibration or squealing when braking before they pads started making the high pitched squeal indicating replacement is needed. So I’m considering just just changing the pads and leaving the rotors alone.
The local shop will charge me $160 to pad slap; about $225 to include new “hardware”; about $345 includes resurfacing the rotors (assuming they are thick enough); and about $835 to replace rotors.
I’m thinking about pad slapping and seeing how it goes. If I notice problems, then I’ll go back in to resurface or replace the rotors. Does this sound reasonable?
Do you mean OEM rotors and pads?
