Sooooooo I made a huge mistake this morning. At 5AM pitch black I tried to drive into my house. My parents keep one gate open and it was so dark (I wasn’t paying well enough attention) and was too close to the gate.

My mirror on the right side ripped off. Not broken just off and needs to be screwed back on. But the door handle cover and black piece ripped off and I scrapped my car. My dad popped it on but it’s loose and clearly needs to be repaired.

He says I should just take it to a body shop. I’m curious if I should go straight to the dealership. I can afford to pay a bit more. I just want it to be done right. I don’t want to be ripped off though. 😭

    That’s wrong

The body shop gives us the bill of the labor and we sublet the labor onto the repair order. If you see a supposed “markup” on the labor, REPORT IT

In addition, why would the dealer markup the price- their not going to burn a bridge with the body shop their working with

If you were a owner of a body shop working with Toyota as a certified Toyota body repair facility and a you find out that specific dealer is hiking up your labor rates, out! Go to find another body shop- two tears in a bucket fucker
