War is natural; war, or its threat, is normal. Peace is an aberration imposed by temporarily overwhelming force which, by its nature, dissipates and cannot endure. Therefore the question is not whether the United States of America can escape from war—it cannot. Nor can it impose a “perpetual peace.” The real question is where and how America will fight.
In response, America should oppose any and all Chinese ambitions in our hemisphere and keep a vigilant watch over Cuba.
Cuba needs to be watched but Cuba isn’t a threat by itself to America.
I have been to Cuba, it is exactly what one would expect from a communist utopia. The leaders have too much and everyone else doesn’t have enough. It was poor. Military and police were everywhere. Most everyone was underweight due to food shortages.
It was interesting to see communism in person. It was just as I had imagined and had been described to me by communists.
I bought a guy lunch at a private dining place, he thanked me for spending a week’s wages on him. It was 20 dollars. That is like 10 minutes of wages for me.
That said, we need our allies to chip in their fair share. Japan and Korea take their obligations seriously unlike Europe. Japan is preparing for war against China.
