Let me vent in hopes that others share my frustration. Last season (and every season I can remember before it), the concourse had a pretty good selection of both local and national beer to choose from. But this year they seem to have minimized the selection on the concourse so that every cooler just has Bud, Bud Light, Bud Light Seltzer, Modelo, Nutrl, Big Wave and Mango Cart. Some coolers seem to have Hazy Beer Hug and Modist Dreamyard, but in previous seasons there were way more options spread out all around the arena (Fulton, Summit, New Belgium off the top of my head). It sucks!

My guess is that this is new management limiting options to cut costs, which stinks because in-arena experience is a pretty poor place to try and cut costs (especially when the change is this drastic). Every other arena in town has great beer selections both local and national, and it’s frustrating that the one I frequent the most by a significant margin seems to have decided to go hard in the opposite direction to save some $$$.

That might be true but I’m not going to give the organization the benefit of the doubt here with the other changes they’ve made this year. Even if AB offered up more money, the Wolves could have just said “no”. My assumption is that they make better profit margins on the domestic beer vs. the “premium craft” options, so they axed most of those in favor of domestics assuming that fans will still buy beer, even if the selection sucks. So instead of someone like me buying two Foggy Geezer’s, management assumes I’ll buy two Budweisers and the Wolves make a slightly better profit than they would have otherwise.
