Lot of talk about Kuzma in the sub the last few days and while I think we may be getting ahead of ourselves a little bit, if he does maintain this level of play or something near it the return on a trade with his contract would be pretty substantial I think. Who are some realistic teams that might be in on him? It’s so early and things will change by the deadline but these are a few teams I could see in the mix.
First, maybe the knicks if they really want to move off randle they could package him with quickley and picks and make salaries work.
Lakers anyone? For a team whose brand is physical ball they kind of lack size and he’s well liked in the city and the locker room I assume, though I’m not sure what kind of assets they have but if they’re desperate he provides AD insurance.
Grizzlies? Obviously if they continue playing terrible I don’t think they’d make this move but if they get some momentum when Ja comes back perhaps they try to beef up their frontcourt and maybe the Wiz take back adams and picks and make money work.
Now this is my wildcard, but maybe OKC? If they really wanna go all in and try to win now, for one he’s under contract for four years so he’ll be a piece for them for years to come, but they need size too cause even as good as Chet looks he could use another big guy next to him, Kuz can switch really anything so he makes any team defensively versatile. Maybe they move Giddey? They need to sign one of him or jalen williams and eventually Chet, maybe they make a tough choice and package him with salary and draft comp.
What do you all think? This is not well researched and all off the dome but these are some ideas that don’t seem crazy to me.
Atlanta maybe. They could use an upgrade at forward and are trying to win
