iMessage is locking me in personally. I’m in a lot of iMessage group chats and I think I would be excluded if I don’t have it. They’re still my friends so I know they would invite me separately to things but I might miss stuff.

I did setup time shift so we should be good there.

Also thanks for the info on the .msg files! We tried opening in thunderbird but it didn’t work, we’ll try these steps seems simple!

I was already available for her tech support whenever she needed so this isn’t really changing much for me. Plus I enjoy this so it doesn’t bother me.

I setup time shift, but I should setup some kind of backup for her. She didn’t have any kind of backup in windows either.

Hmm maybe I can see if it can be configured to only do security patches and feature updates can be done manually.

My goal here is for her NOT to use the VM. I only set it up as a backup in case there was something I overlooked. Ideally she’ll never need to go into the VM.

I thought it would be good to enable this to ensure security issues are patched. But maybe I should turn that off?

Not to mention there’s hardly any micro transactions left, a lot of these micro transactions are the prices of full games or more!

Zero chance this will be $250 it’s more powerful than the steam deck.

Yes the proprietary drivers.

Honestly I’ve had zero issues with nvidia on Wayland for about a year now, before that there were some issues, but it seems to be fine now! Maybe I’m just lucky.

“Liberate” what is this helldivers 2?

Makes sense, this article has a section that does a good job explaining it: https://www.linuxnest.com/what-is-an-immutable-distro/

I think the atomic part actually means the updates are not applied until restarting the system.
This might have been what it was as you mentioned git reflog. I don’t remember clearly since I’m usually pretty good at not making this mistake.
I’ve even recovered from deleting local changes I forgot how but there is a way! (It’s not something to rely on but can help in a pinch!)

Generally people don’t put games on external drives.

I read the release notes and followed all the relevant instructions and had zero issues, was a very smooth and easy process.
Idk I was considering it, I have another friend who’s very social and has had an android forever. He’s in a different friend group in another state. I assumed he must be being included based on all the social stuff he’s doing. He recently got an iPhone and said he was added to a bunch of group chats he didn’t know existed and he was missing out on stuff. So that made me not want to switch away.
