Well, that won’t matter unless it’s a brand new phone or has been properly erased because you won’t be able to install lineage anyway unless one of those two conditions are met.

Okay, according to the article, this functionality will only activate after you have signed into a Google account for the first time on the device. So, at least for those of us who use custom software such as lineage OS, that won’t matter since we don’t put a Google account on the device to begin with in a lot of cases. A lot of us boot the phone for the first time, skip the entire setup wizard as fast as possible without signing in or any of that stuff, and then immediately enable OEM unlocking and flash the lineage or whatever software.
I’ve found that it’s a particular size. I do not like having a phone with case that is more than about 75 centimeters from edge to edge because then it feels somewhat uncomfortable to hold in the hand.
I just got Android 14 the other day through lineage OS 21 and I’m enjoying the fact that when I pull down the notification shade now that it triggers a quick tap of the vibration motor
Just like my cell phone plan, I get to pay $15 per month for calling texting and 5 gigabytes of data because I know for a fact that I’m not going to use 5 gigabytes of data where everybody else is paying $60 or more for unlimited.
I think I remember something about that, but I didn’t pay much attention to it at the time. I feel like whatever it was, it was rather recent, though.
Hell, it’s the only App Store I will even touch.
That’s cool. Now, when something like that comes to fdroid, I will be using it. Fuck google
Personally, I don’t see a problem with this as 128 gigs of storage is fine for me on a phone. In fact, I currently have a 64 gigabyte phone and I’m not using all of it, even now.
You can’t update between major versions without plugging it in. So if you get an Android 14 update and you are on Android 14, you can install it. But if you are on Android 13 and get an Android 14 update, you cannot install it.
I literally just got Android 14 a few days ago because I had been running Android 13 lineage OS and finally got around to actually plugging the phone in and updating it.
Things like splitting the battery into multiple cells helps with this.
I am not seeing standard F-Droid doing that
Now we just need F-Droid to do this too
Perhaps the economy is not as good as everybody says it is, and a very cyclical sector like tech is the first one to feel it.
Not for long. They will soon be cut off for not upgrading.
2G is something i rarely think of.
I am enjoying it. Though it doesnt work on VoLTE when on LineageOS so i will not be able to call/text excrpt via wifi after April when 2G is shut down.
Discreet Launcher is somewhat buggy when app switching.
