Once we lost Tyus Jones, Melton, and Brooks I knew it was going downhill. I’m of the “hot” take that Ja needed to be traded for value, retain that 3, and use the value from Ja to balance out the roster with whatever needed. The Grizzlies played way better TEAM ball without Ja and with Tyus Jones. Now that he’s gone and Ja is still here. I hate this roster.
Team ball wins Championships, and Ja isn’t a team ball oriented player. And he never will be.
I’m over errybody talkin now bout how we messed up tradin brooks. Yeah he was a dog on defense but he hyped up the negative (which Memphis don’t need), kept the refs hatin us, and thought he was Kobe out there going 2 for 15. I don’t know if the rockets are keepin him under control or his thick head finally got it but he wasn’t doin us any favors.
We gunna hear a lot of the “shoulda kept brooks” with the Smart injury but I think he brings more positive to the guys imo.
