There was always a lot of people complaining about botting and acc selling problem ( new lvl 30 accounts in silver/gold, now platinum? elo ruining games ) in this game. I know it will always be a problem but i didn’t believe it was that bad until i decided to investigate exactly how bad it is.
Botting is extremely rampant.
Bots play all the way to 30 in intro AI bot games.
Go and play one yourself, you will 99% be matched with 4 bots. Usually 3 of them disconnect at the start of the game then rejoin 1 by one. All of them go mid ONE by ONE and push.
All have some generic 1 word name ( to sell better? ) or a name with 2 or 4 numbers at the end.
I checked what happens to them. So far all of the accounts i checked after hitting 30 in 5-10 days max were playing ranked, either smashing hard or running it down.
Is riot games even doing something about it?
I’m lucky enough to never play vs/with them but i feel bad for players at plat and below.
I’m sure compared to playerbase size overall you will see accounts like that rarely but why is riot games not just simply monitor intro and beginner bot games to ban bots? And no, they don’t wait for them to hit 30 to ban them, i see they are not getting banned.
You can check it yourself, do 1 intro game vs ai, write down names of obvious bots, in 3 months max you will see them in ranked ruining games one way or another.
