Although this current winning streak has been a treat to watch, it has influenced me to consider the future success of the team. How could this team improve? What does it lack? How can they add the modifications to the roster without trades or overspending or depleting the limited assets they have? The team’s success in the postseason and development of young guys has led me to believe and trust their judgment. For that reason this is what I see the team doing:

  1. Drafting a big point guard and giving Kyle Lowry a veteran extension.

  2. Simplifying Tyler’s Role to maximize his strengths.

  3. Giving Haywood Highsmith an extension.

  4. Developing Jovic to be Bam’s backup.

I think that this team is literally one small piece away from winning the whole thing. It’s the point guard spot and back up center position. Give Jovic one more developmental year. Draft the point guard of the future and they are right there.

    Make a trade package for Pascal Siakam that probably involves Herro, Robinson, and Jovic. Trade for Alex Caruso as well. Then we have over 60 mil in cap space freed up to re-sign Siakam and give proper extensions to Martin, Highsmith, and Caruso.

    If we had Pascal Siakam I genuinely believe it would cover some of our size issues when going against bigger teams. Having Lowry and Love come off the bench would really help out Bryant, Highsmith, and Jaime all find rhythm and consistency.

    Caruso, Martin, Butler, Siakam, and Bam as our starting 5 would be killer.
