Hey all. I just ordered my Steam Deck. I bought a 64GB LCD. I didn’t realize they were going to stop making them all together. Anyway. I know nothing about them other than the basics of being a handheld PC of sorts. I am very familiar with emulation and soft modding consoles, but I don’t know where I should start when I get this thing. Is the best bet EmuDeck and Batocerra right now or is there anything to consider? Thanks for any input and advice you can all give.

The Steam Deck 64GB is the same as the 512GB model, just with a smaller drive, which can be swapped. If you ordered it recently, I would see if you can get an OLED model instead though.

I use emudeck for running DS and wii games and its a really nice one click solution.

If you’re looking to performance mod the deck itself, i would start with CryoUtilities. Nice script for centralizing linux gaming performance tweets. Decky plugin loader is also supper useful for all kinds of things from power limit changing, to custom fan curves, to music control
