I’d rather turn off my phone and check the score at 4:30 than tempt fate with a weekly cardiac crisis. It’d be one thing if we completely sucked and had no weapons. But we have an team with so much potential, hindered by an OC who shouldn’t have a job and a QB who is unconfident and inconsistent. Mike Tomlin needs to revamp this entire coaching staff, especially the offensive and defensive coordinators. Teryl Austin deserves more blame for putting all of his money on the splash plays, which is just not enough. Kenny Pickett does not get a pass, either. I don’t want to hear any excuses. He showed some toughness, I’ll give him that, but he just looks scared and confused out there. And I’m sure it doesn’t help that our pass blocking is the equivalent of a fucking turnstile. Please, cut Dan Moore immediately. On a more positive note, Jaylen Warren and the run blocking had an excellent game today. Broderick Jones makes such an impact and I’m officially sold on JW being the starter from now on. Najee should get reps too, but I’m starting to think 70/30 or 60/40. The run defense was very exciting as well and I’m hoping we keep that same energy going forward. But we need to do something about the secondary and QB position, as well as play style, if we ever want to be Super Bowl contenders. Honestly, I think we should trade Mitch Trubisky, keep Kenny as a backup, and either trade for someone with experience or try our luck in the draft again.
