Reducing alt charge received has in no way discouraged targeting the tank. Doesn’t really matter if the just die instantaneously, does it? But that’s actually the better half of the passive now.

All of the new CC they’ve added since launch has been movement based. And there are only a handful that actually have a boop and have a boop that matters. Particularly Doom Orisa Brig and Zen.

I’m all for keeping that part of the passive but only because it’s worth so little in the grand scheme and is basically necessary for Rein to fight any of those heroes. However, Tanks need a layer of protection against other forms of CC and debuffs. Hog can get all the buffs he wants but will always get invalidated by an ana nade.

I think the role passive should be across the board changed, but I’ve given tank the most thought: debuffs (slow, anti nade, flames, hinders, hacks, etc.) should increase a tanks stats such as damage numbers, damage reduction, fire rates, speed increase, or hell, maybe a really small increase across the board, per debuffs received

I was watching one of the SVB podcasts and they brought up the fact that Tanks should feel rewarded for taking in CC, and with so much in the game a lot of tank playstyles just can’t do that. Which has lead to counter swapping and tanks being unplayable because someone picks Ana. Well what if you get anti’d but then you get slowed, booped, stunned, and now you become this hulking monster that can still die, importantly, but will at least get a few picks off before that happens.

I think this would discourage mindlessly throwing your CCs on a tank just for the sake of it, if you want one to explode, you’ll have to coordinate and make damn sure they die once that happens. It lets tanks be aggressive and have fun and be able to take the many many cool downs that otherwise fuck them over hard. Ofc you need some changes to Orisa in particular because, again, we want to be able to kill them. But the way the current passive works and the new tank philosophy is working out, I don’t think the solution is nerfing, but buffing.

I haven’t heard anyone talk about this as an idea which sort of tells me it’s a bad one but every idea is worth a little discussion and I want to see some discussion dammit.

The weird thing about tank is we are so easy to counter and bully and shut down. That we almost NEED to be OP to stand a chance now. Even after nerf after nerf orisa is still the most unkillable tank and people wonder why everyone picks her. Id honestly be fine losing 25% of my offensive power for a massive defensive boost. Make support and dps half to work together to bring us down. Blizzard said we are supposed to be mini bosses yet i feel we die faster than support.
