For me it was Kai Leng in Mass Effect 3. In the intro cinematic he looked like a cool assassin that was sent after Shepard, but when you meet him he’s just a loser dweeb with insane plot armor and the power of anime on his side.
Another character for me is Alduin in Skyrim. The entire storyline hyped him up as The World Eater, that he will bring the apocalypse, but the when you do finally face him… I stg I’ve fought Draugr more fearsome.
No I get that for sure, but it just didn’t do anything for mean. Ragnarok as a whole didn’t really do much for me. The emotional moments were reallllyy strong. The actors sold the crap out of those. But I thought the mythological story was mid. I also wasn’t a fan with how they made the dialogue weirdly modern day sounding for some characters. Made it feels more like a Rick Riordan book to me. The moments between Atreus, Kratos, and Freya I genuinely loved though.
And I totally respect that you liked the depiction. I just didn’t, that’s all. It was a let-down for me.
