It seems to be the new standard to sign a FA to the practice squad before inevitably elevating them to the 53 man roster. This smells like they are taking advantage of some rule change. Does anyone know if there is an advantage to signing a FA to the PS instead of just cutting and replacing a player on the 53 man roster?
Feels like only yesterday that practice squads were limited to guys in their first two years of pro bowl and like maxed out at 8 guys. Really happy they made the changes they did
