Hi! I’m in desperate need of some sort of concealer/foundation/primer that will hide eczema.

My allergy/immunology doc thinks I’ve developed a new allergy. Unfortunately, my appointment with him isn’t until next week, so right now I have no way of knowing what to avoid to make this rash go away. The only thing he’s recommended in the meantime is aquaphor, which helps with the dryness/itching but not the redness/swelling.

I can’t get any products to “stick” to the parts of my under eye that are flared up. It’s exactly like when you try to use a pen on a glossy piece of paper, if that makes sense. I’ve tried different concealers (NARS soft matte complete concealer and maybelline instant age rewind eraser), primers (elf power grip, smashbox photo finish, Laura mercier foundation primer radiance), and with/without setting powder (etude house zero sebum). I’ve applied with a beauty blender, different brushes, and even tried the pads of my fingers. Even layering with setting spray in-between (tarte miracle mist) hasn’t worked.

I’m meeting some of my fiancé’s extended family for the first time this week, and don’t want them to see my dark circles (I’m a medical student and I work nights in an ER, so I don’t sleep lol). Please help!

Thanks for your response! I do not apply the aquaphor near my waterline, so I don’t think there’s risk of clogging the glands. Plus, it’s reduced my itchiness, so I don’t think I’m allergic to any of its ingredients.

I don’t use tide, we use arm & hammer. Hopefully the testing next week will tell me what it is I’m allergic to!
