The game was 7-7 when I started watching in the 2nd quarter.

KC’s O-Line combined with Mahomes’ scrambling was giving him plenty of time to work. But KC couldn’t catch a pass when they needed it.

Philly’s run game is dangerous with Swift and Hurts posing a threat. But if you can get pressure on Hurts, they look very beatable in the passing game.

Both defenses looked good, but KC looked better. But neither looked dominants. Although KC was able to get after Hurts and kept him somewhat contained.

I think the key for the Niners is going to be our Defense beating Philly on the line and containing the run game, and not giving Hurts time to get a passing attack going. And then avoiding 3rd and short and 4th and short. I like the Niners offense against Philly’s D.

As far as MNF, I think KC would have run away with the game if they would have caught some of those passes.

Hurts looks eminently beatable if you can keep him in the pocket.

I disagree with this quite a bit. Hurts has evolved quite a bit in that regard. Look at the last month or so. He’s had a hurt knee and barely been mobile, and he’s done just fine executing the offense from the pocket:

    • 29 of 38 for 314 and 4 TD vs WAS three weeks ago, 4 rushes for 6 yards
    • 29 of 44 for 374 and 3 TD vs DAL two weeks ago, 6 rushes for 14 yards

Where he has looked the worst, which comes as no shock because it’s the same for just about any QB, is when he is constantly under duress. Which he mostly was last night.

So the key to me for SF on D is pressure, pressure, pressure. The key for SF on O, I mostly agree with you. It’s especially attacking their slot, linebackers, and safeties. They looked like they figured out some stuff during the bye though. Their passing D was MUCH better yesterday than they were before the bye. Sure, they benefitted from some drops, but you don’t hold Mahomes to 177 yards passing and 0 points in the second half without doing some good stuff.
