The Chicago Bulls have ruined the NBA for me. I can’t remember the last time I sat down and watched a full game and enjoyed it because even when the Bulls win, I know they’ll lose the next three so I never get my hopes up or get excited for basketball. Our owner is trash and is okay with mediocrity as long as fans are filling the seats.
To really get into NBA basketball again in the meantime, I chose to join the Thunder bandwagon because while they haven’t reached the peak yet, they are set up extremely well for the future with a boat load of draft capital, exciting young guys in Chet, Jalen Williams, Giddey, and one of my favorite players league wide and a bonafide superstar (imo) in Shai. What else do I need to know about the Thunder? Not too familiar with the role players, rotations, coaches, GM and such, but I’m finally excited to watch and root for a young up and coming team where I can have hope versus rooting for the rudderless Bulls. Excited to join the wagon; let me know about anything I need to know, good beat writers to follow and answers on the items above.
JWill (Jaylin) and Isaiah were high school teammates in Arkansas. JWill is an expert charge taker.
JDub (Jalen) was runner-up for RotY last year. Best adjusted guy. Always playful and enjoying life, but stood up for his teammate last year on social media… which is hella dope.
Isaiah was waived by the 76ers at the beginning of last season. OKC quickly snatched him up. And his been an excellent 3-point shooter plus an overall good contributor.
Bertans is new to us, but he is an instant offense from 3. We hardly play him.
Micic is a multiple time euro-league mvp and champ. Technically he is a rookie this year.
Waters is an OKC local who played high school ball with Tre Young. End of the bench guy, but can warm up from deep.
Poku was someone we had hopes that might have developed into poor man’s Chet minus the shooting (tall, can handle, pass) but after some good flashes last year… he has been derailed with injuries. And his time with us may be coming to an end.
Tre Mann is a really talented player. Has an AMAZING step back, but unfortunately is inconsistent. He probably needs a lot more burn than OKC can provide.
Poku and Tre are hot topics within the fanbase.
Poku will be with us for 15 years. Do not spread that slander. I will not tolerate it.
