I’ve been queuing Tanks for most Seasons because the queue is short (thus quicker to farm CP points for golden weapons). I deranked hard from Master 3 to Diamond 4 in Season 4, now I manage to climb bank to Master 5 in this Season.

Self-blame mentality is good because you’re looking for your mistakes, but overly blaming yourself for the loss is bad because you will mentally hurt yourself much more.

You can do everything right by managing your abilities, playing corners + natural covers, tracking enemies cooldowns, not hard feeding, etc, but things can still go bad. That’s life.

In 5v5, everyone matters instead of just the Tank’s performance. The devs seems wants to reduce “whoever gets the better Tank wins” this scenario after S1.

If you have one teammate not pulling their weight, it can affect a lot. If you have two teammates not pulling their weight, then it’s pretty much a loss. There’s nothing much you could do when the majority of the enemy team counters you but your teammates refuse to find the enemy team’s weaknesses and use it as the advantage.

When the majority of the enemy team counters you, you may indirectly enable someone else in your team. The enemy team goes JQ / Hog + Reaper + Bastion to counter me as Winston? This means no one is stopping my teammate double Snipers (plus Ana) from shooting the enemy team. The enemy team goes Zarya + Mei + Symmetra + Brig to counter me as DVA? Then my teammates go PharMercy and stomp their squishy while I try not to feed but occupy their attention.

I think this is only half true, and not in a good way.

It’s not possible to hard carry on tank any more, but it is totally possible to have a tank that’s so bad you can’t win.
