Hi! I have a Steam Deck connected to a 1440p monitor and I always use desktop mode rather than the mode Steam Deck boots into by default. I like to play games at 720p both with the Steam Deck docked and undocked, but my monitor does a terrible job of upscaling games I have made to run at 720p: everything looks like a blurry mess rather than sharp. So, is there a software solution that prescales games from 720p to 1440p without any filtering involved? I think this is possible on Windows and I’m hoping this can also be done on Linux.

Thanks in advance!

You are talking about integer scaling, correct? Where, if possible, it simply multiplies the pixels, rather than attempting interpolation? I think it’s an option in the Quick Settings menu when you press “…”. I think you go to the plug icon Performance tab and scroll to the bottom, there’s a slider with different options like Integer, FSR, etc.

If not, googling “deck integer scaling” should help.
