Jamal Cain | 19 PTS | 8 REB | 2 AST | 8-11 FGM-A | 2-3 3PM- A | 1 STL | 1 BLK
Nikola Jovic | 17 PTS | 5 REB | 7 AST | 7-16 FGM-A | 3-6 3PM- A | 1 BLK
Solid bounce back for the Skyforce after losing the lead late (in very Heat fashion) against the Herd last game.
-Cole Swider looks good on both ends, being defensively active while doing a decent amount of ball handling and achieving a career high in points. Easily Duncan’s successor if he remains with us
-Jamal Cain looked extremely composed scoring, shot 3s with no hesitation, attacked closeouts, used his speed and bounce to get transition buckets etc. His offensive growth has been fun to watch. He’s not really a guy I want running an offense but he’s been a real mercenary for them scoring efficiently.
-Jovic had a solid game as well, never sped up. Almost looked too easy at certain points. Got the 3s up with no hesitation. He was a great pick and pop threat anywhere. From the top of the key to the short roll non paint area, and got out in transition a couple of times generating buckets for himself and others. He’s gonna push pace in the open floor guaranteed. He smoked like 2 layups but on overall on offense he was good. He was being defended by Centers with some NBA experience
Defensively he’s rotating well, and isn’t losing guys off ball. He’s trying to contest every shot without fouling, so his block attempts look more like stationary swipes ngl. But he’s not getting exposed. I’ve been especially curious about his PNR defense he’s playing drop at the 5 and has been serviceable in that role so far
Honorable mentions to Justin Champagnie, Drew Peterson, Alondes Williams and Jon Elmore.
Everyone here might be sleeping on Swider. This guy is Kapono 2.0…
It’s over once this guy figures out defense like Duncan and Herro finally did
He’s kind of sort of figuring out defense right now actually
