Having just seen that Alcaraz has finished his season with a 65-12 record, I am reminded of the 66-11 record that Murray achieved in 2009. I was actually shocked because I thought for sure he had already cleared 70 wins, he has looked that good. So I’ve decided to write this up for us all to compare their seasons and not to diminish either ones achievements. I’ll leave the comparisons to you guys.

Some rather surprising stats found upon research, because I think its obvious whose season we’d rather have, but it’d be interesting to see who we’d think would win, season for season in a match. Or maybe that’s an obvious one as well.
Murray lost in the 4R of AO to verdasco (which sounds bad) until you see that 2009 AO Verdasco was insanely good. He probably shouldn’t have lost in the 4R of USO to cilic, and he didnt have any clay game whatsoever at that time, so it’s not a surprise he lost to Gonzo at RG. Though he was still pre prime, he already had some good grass game at this point as seen by his queens win in 2009. Lost a close a 4 setter to Roddick who was playing one of the best tournaments of his life but sadly didnt win
