Luckily, I was near a shop when it happened so we just rolled her in. The tech originally quoted about $800 if they had to drop the tank but when I checked on the status yesterday (their originally stated timeline), they said it could be a few grand due to how complicated it would be for this make/model.

Does this sound normal or are they just trying to raise the floor and take me for a ride? I googled $500-$1000 for dropping a tank, which I was told is the nuclear option to avoid if possible.

    I just got a call and they don’t have to drop the tank but are claiming some difficulty getting the fuel out. “Won’t charge me for all the time they’re taking” but will still be between $800-1000.

    Does that sound right? I guess it doesn’t matter at this point now that they’ve started
