As the title describes, what is frustrating is I am a tenant in a houseshare and do not have the admin rights on the router and can’t test via the ethernet either. We get packet loss and network drop out about 1/3 of the time, exactly every 2 mins on the dot.

From what I can gather there is a BT hub, 2x BT extender discs and a ‘BT dongle’, the dongle and 1 extender are inches away from the hub, plus possibly more. Weirdly the router isnt giving out any wifi, but the extender is. I know this from unplugging the disc in an effort to help bandwidth, but inadvertency taking the whole house offline. There is also something strange about the BT hub IP address landing page, it thinks everything is connected via ethernet, but has the blue D next to it meaning disk. Theres at least one more BT disc a few rooms away, from what I can gather, and possibly more as I was told a housemate has ‘that thing plugged in that gets him better internet’, which might just be another extender, I don’t know.

I would really appreciate any help as the Landlord is of no use and I can not access the router.

packet loss and drop out every 2 mins.

Possibly, they’re installing fiber in the future, or so they claim. The landlord is equally annoyed about it and claims we are on the best avaliable package. I actually dont think it’s the providores fault in this case, the speeds are high 2/3 of the time 60mbps then as described 1/3 of the time drop out every 2mins.

I think it might be some software or device buggigng it out, I would love to acces the router files and check the reports for what its doing in those 2min intervals but Im not allowed.
