I know we don’t really have a need for an LB, but there’s also never much reason not to add depth at any position, and there’s a good chance Leonard can still make a big impact in the right scheme. We’ve got plenty of cap space right now, and honestly, even just signing him to prevent the Eagles or Cowboys from picking him up and haunting us in the playoffs feels like a good enough reason.
From what I’ve heard, we also would not get the crazy discount like when we signed Gregory and Chase. If we claim him off waivers I believe we would owe him like $8M+ this year and at least that for next. Somebody correct me on that if I’m off.
That, and our talent at LB make signed Leonard a bad move IMO.
