The 4-6 Chargers enter a Week 12 matchup vs the current No. 1 Seed in the AFC with playoff hopes on the line. The final stretch of games includes 4 Division games, with the season finale hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. They can only afford a single loss to keep their playoff hopes alive. Its a tough stretch ahead.

Sounds familiar, right? Obviously this is referring to the LA Chargers about to play the 7-3 Baltimore Ravens in the 2023 season. Or is it?

Turn back time exactly 10 years, my friends. Week 12, 2013. The 4-6 San Diego Chargers play the 9-1 Kansas City Chiefs. Their final 7 games, including this one, contain 4 Division games, and the season finale is hosting the Chiefs. If you’ll remember, that squad stunned KC in a 41-38 shootout, and went on to win 5 of their next 6, making the playoffs with a 9-7 record.

Our threshold for making the postseason is 10-7. We’ve been here before. It has happened before. I know things are bleak right now. But we have the capacity to make it happen. We can win these games, if the team holds together and galvanizes.

Will it happen? Who knows. But I’ll hold out faith till we’re actually out. Bolt Up!

Listen, I’m all for having hope. Making the playoffs if possible would be nice.

My only problem was I thought this team had real Super Bowl aspirations. Last playoff game we choked it away. Was up by 3 plus scores. I thought coming into this year they would play like their hair was on fire. A major chip on their shoulder. I just don’t see it.
